We all live in darkness. It consumes us and moves through us. We know nothing of the light except for the legends that our ancestors passed down from generation to generation. The light has gone out of the world. It was a wondrous thing they say. It gave off heat and you could see everything that it touched.
We have learned to exist in this dark world, without the illumination of light. We have known nothing more than this cold place. And it is as I'm walking down the street of cobblestone that a flash of light cuts through the darkness. Lifting a hand up to my eyes, I'm astonished by how bright this light is! As my dark world filled with light, I could see many people, ten thousand or more. My eyes were opened to what this place had become. I had lived here for so long that I had grown used to the silence that filled the streets.
